Modern Research
Indian Barberry and its components have been shown to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antifungal, anti-amoebic antihyperglycemic, antidepressant, anti-diarrheal, anticancer, anti-osteoporotic, chemoprotective, inotropic, immunomodulatory, and hepatoprotective effects. It has also been shown to modulate cytochrome P450 expression.
