  4. Main Traditional Action: Reduces inflammation and fever, amapachana, part of Dashamula
  5. Other Traditional Uses: Edema, diseases of the urinary tract, diabetes, dyspepsia, flatulent colic, hemorrhoids, constipation, fever, catarrh, cough, bronchitis, asthma, skin diseases, anemia, neuralgia, insufficient lactation, inflammatory joint disease, tumours, and constituent of the Chyavanaprasha formulation.

Agnimantha and its components have been investigated for a number of biological activities including: antioxidant,  immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, antiparasitic, antitumor, hypoglycemic, and hypotensive.
